Upton Park  is one of a large number of urban extensions planned around the fringes of Northampton.

Wichelstowe is a new urban extension to Swindon between the town and the M4 motorway. It was built on the basis that bus rapid transit would enable people to travel by sustainable means.
Clackers Brook, East Melksham is a new urban extension on greenfield land. The  local centre with a pub and a primary school nearby are off a roundabout on the distributor road which serves to link the various parts of the estate. Open space is provided in the form a large green fllod plain area by Clackers brook, which has footpaths through it .
Priors Hall Park, Northampton is a new urban extension built for easy commute to London as explained the marketing literature
